HIRAM, Ohio - March 28, 2026 - Hiram celebrated four seniors ahead of a tough matchup against the reigning PAC Champions on Saturday afternoon, as the Terriers battled but ultimately lost in three sets: 25-21, 25-15, 25-22.
The day began with a special pregame celebration for Derek Chiang, Colin Brooks, Cullen Sivak and Logan Cabrera-Rosales, a group that has collectively contributed 13 seasons to the Terriers men's volleyball program. Chiang was an All-PAC First Team selection this past season, while the other three were each key members of the 2024 Terriers roster that won the AMCC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in Hoboken, NJ.
Thiel held the upper hand for most of the contest, as an 8-2 run carried it to a first-set win. The team then never trailed in the second set, jumping out to a 16-6 lead before holding on for the two-set advantage.
In the third set, Hiram fought and held a late lead of 18-17, but the road team prevailed and continued its pursuit of a second straight championship. Derek Chiang led the Terriers with 10 kills, while Darren Chiang had 25 assists and Harry Soriano had eight digs.
The Terriers will continue play on its home floor on Tuesday, when they host Bethany for a 6 p.m. start inside Price Gymnasium.
