Terriers Fight Hard But Fall To Conference Opponent W&J

Hiram Falls In Close Game With Presidents, 9-8

Hiram, Ohio – March 18, 2026- The Hiram Terrier men's lacrosse program welcomed their PAC conference foe W&J on Wednesday for an evening matchup at Henry Field. The Terriers fought hard and battled, but eventually fell to the Presidents, 9-8, in overtime.

The Terriers held the slim advantage at halftime, and both teams continued to battle in the second half. A late goal by the Terriers tied the game in the fourth quarter, which sent the game into overtime, where the goal by W&J gave them the victory, but not without a hard-fought effort by the Terriers.

Leading the way for the Terriers was Kellen Wetz, who scored two goals and added on an assist for a 3-point performance by the junior. Wetz has already scored 14 goals this season, including a five-goal performance against Earlham, which has been outstanding for the start of the season.

Scoring their 17th and 18th goals of the season was Will Minggia, who also finished with seven shots on goal in an impressive offensive display. Finally, scoring the game-tying goal late in the fourth quarter was Connor Randell, who also finished with two goals.

The Terriers will return to action on Saturday, when they travel to Alma, Michigan to face the Scots of Alma College, with the faceoff set for 12 p.m.
