Hiram Drops Final 2 Games In Clermont, FL

Terriers Take On More Elite Competition On Saturday

CLERMONT, Florida - March 14, 2026 – Hiram wrapped up its trip to Clermont, FL with a pair of losses to Wisconsin-La Crosse (7-3) and Ramapo (11-0) at The Spring Games at the Hancock Complex Fields on Saturday afternoon.

Game 1 – Recap

Terriers started the afternoon with a hard fought battle against Wisconsin-La Crosse, taking a 7-3 loss after 7 innings. Hiram drew first blood early on with Daynna Mekaru singling up the middle to bring home Avery Contini. Mekaru finished with a multi-hit game for the first time this season.

Yasmine Clark started in the circle for game one, recording her fifth start of the season, keeping the Eagles at bay up until the fourth inning, when she surrendered four runs. Sarah Ciereszewski and Contini came on in relief to round things out, keeping their team within striking distance thanks to one earned run allowed between the two of them.

Hiram scored twice on an RBI double by Haven Papineau and run-scoring single by Ari Torres in the sixth frame, but Wisconsin-La Crosse held on for the four-run win.

Game 2 – Recap

Ramapo, who advanced to the NCAA Tournament this past season after winning 33 games, took care of business in Game 2 of the day. Hiram's Lola Thomas reached base twice on a double and walk, while Ari Torres and Haven Papineau each reached base safely on hit by pitches.

Ramapo won the game thanks to tallying 11 runs on 10 hits over the first four innings. Of the team's 11 runs scored, only six were earned runs charged to the Terriers pitching staff.
