Hiram Falls Short On Third Day Of The Spring Games

Moser Totals 4 RBI Over 2 Games On Thursday

CLERMONT, Florida - March 12, 2026 – Hiram fell just short in both games Thursday afternoon with a 7-6 loss to Roger Williams and a 4-1 loss to Carthage on day three of The Spring Games Tournament.

Game 1 – Recap

The Terriers took charge early on in their first contest of the afternoon, with Megan Moser hitting a triple down the right-field line to bring home Daynna Mekaru. Not too far behind was Lola Thomas, who reached first base on a single to bring home Moser and push the score to 2-0 with back-to-back runs in the first frame.

Hiram kept applying the pressure, scoring in the third, fourth and seventh innings to pull ahead even further by three runs (6-3). Moser added an RBI single and RBI groundout, while Danielle Robles plated a run on a fielder's choice and Kayla Prigge ripped an RBI single to center field.

Back in the circle for the Terriers was Avery Contini, who held the Hawks to just three runs through the first six innings of the contest. Roger Williams eventually broke through and scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh, erasing a 6-3 deficit and pulling off the walk-off victory.

Game 2 – Recap

Despite the previous game's result, the Terriers came back for game two with a passion like no other, shutting down the Red Hawks with fielding work from Moser, Robles and Torres to limit Carthage to just four runs in the game (one earned). Yasmine Clark stepping into the circle for the Terriers for game two of the tournament, pitching a solid seven-inning line of 7 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 0 K.

Robles lifted the offense with a triple and run scored on a Moser sacrifice fly, but Carthage would only surrender three hits in the low-scoring affair.

What's Next

Hiram will continue play with a pair of games against Weslyan University at 9 a.m. and Calvin at 1:45 p.m. on Friday in Clermont, FL.
