HIRAM, Ohio - March 12, 2026 - Hiram men's lacrosse earned its third win in five days on Thursday, as the team once again controlled the game on faceoffs and had four different players score multiple goals in a 13-7 win over Earlham at Henry Field.
Kellen Wetz was the breakout star in this non-conference affair, as the junior Findlay, OH tallied a career-high five goals and finished with a career-best seven points thanks to a pair of assists. Will Minggia, Jack Cook and Connor Randell also had two goals each, while Micky Morgan and Tyler Wolke capped it off with one goal each.
With the victory, Hiram has won three straight games for the first time since Mar. 11-18 last season. A fourth straight win would give the team its longest win streak since March 2023.
The combination of Remi DeSmith (14-22 on faceoffs, six ground balls) and Nathan Lavigne (career-high seven ground balls) helped get the Hiram offense into motion. Randell, Wetz (twice), Wolke (man-up) and Morgan (man-up) all scored in the first quarter, pulling the Terriers ahead by three (5-2).
Earlham rattled off three straight goals to open the second period and make it a tie game, but Hiram answered with the next eight goals in the game, spanning from 4:50 in the second quarter to 2:04 in the third quarter. Wetz had three goals and one assist during that span, helping him produce the best statistical performance of his collegiate career.
Earlham scored twice in the fourth quarter, but Hiram had already done more than enough to secure the win.
Hiram will finish off its busiest stretch of the season on Saturday, when it hosts Brevard at 1 p.m. from Henry Field in Hiram, OH.
