FORT MYERS, Florida - March 11, 2026 - Hiram couldn't extend its winning streak to three games on Wednesday afternoon, as Skidmore had a breakout day of offensive production in a 19-6 loss at Terry Park.
The Terriers entered play riding the momentum of their last two games, in which they beat both Haverford and Alfred State behind a combined 19 runs.
The Hiram bats still found a way to scratch six runs across on Wednesday, with the first three hitters in the batting order – Ben Yoder, Tyler Fernandez and Luke Snider – combining for four hits, three runs scored, two RBI and three walks. Matthew Trimble drove in a pair of runs and Lex Lear walked twice, but the crooked numbers from the opposition proved to be the difference.
Skidmore scored in all but two innings in the game, including three runs in the fifth inning, five in the sixth frame and six in the eighth inning. The team's 20 hits were all kept inside the park (zero home runs), but the placement of those batted balls kept the lineup moving.
The Terriers' Timothy Johnson led the pitching unit with 0.2 innings of scoreless relief to wrap up the contest.
Hiram will return to action on Thursday, when it takes on a familiar foe in Haverford at 12 p.m. from Terry Park in Fort Myers, FL.
