HIRAM, Ohio - February 23, 2026 - Hiram men's lacrosse had an impressive offensive showing in a 18-8 loss to Mount Union on Monday evening, as four different players scored multiple goals despite snowy conditions and freezing temperatures throughout the game.
Â
Kellen Wetz, Will Minggia, Jack Cook and Connor Randell each had two goals, while Michael Miles and Ethan Bitong each had assists. Despite losing, the result marked the closest final margin in the history of the all-time matchup between the two teams.
Â
The Terriers didn't make their move until the second half, as the Purple Raiders jumped ahead, 10-1, at the intermission. In the first seven minutes of the third quarter, Hiram scored four of the five goals during that span to trim the deficit to 11-5. Each of those four goals came from a different player.
Â
The Purple Raiders scored the next six goals, but Hiram answered with three straight goals to open the fourth quarter and make it a single-digit margin again (17-8). Mount Union hung on for the victory, but only outscored Hiram by one goal (8-7) in the entire second half.
Â
Outside of the offensive performers, Gray Perry led the Terriers with eight ground balls and two caused turnovers. Bitong also had four ground balls to help Hiram flip the field throughout the contest.

Hiram will take on another OAC opponent on Saturday, when it takes on Heidelberg at 1 p.m. at Hoernemann Stadium.
