TIFFIN, Ohio – February 28, 2026 - The Hiram Terrier men's lacrosse team traveled to Tiffin, Ohio on Saturday afternoon for an afternoon matchup with the Heidelberg University Student Princes. The Terriers fought hard in a really close game with Heidelberg, but fell 12-9 to the Student Princes at Hoernemann Stadium.
The Terriers went back and forth with Heidelberg, with both teams earning every goal that they scored. The Terriers entered halftime only down one, as both teams fought for every possession. But, it was the play of Heidelberg in the second half that ended up being the difference, but not without a fight from the Terriers.
Leading the way for the Terriers were Will Minggia and Michael Miles, who both finished with three goals each. Minggia also added on an assist as well, as his impressive play to start the season has continued, as he has scored two or more goals in all three games this season. Scoring a goal and assist was Kellen Wetz, who also added three shots on goal. Also scoring for the Terriers were Connor Randell and Micky Morgan, who each had 3 or more shots on the game.
Hiram led in the second quarter, 5-4, but Heidelberg answered by scoring eight of the next nine goals to grab onto a 12-6 advantage. The Terriers answered by scoring each of the last three goals, but the late rally fell just short.
The Terriers will be back in action next Sunday, when they travel to Danville, VA for a matchup with Averett University beginning at 2 p.m.
