HIRAM, Ohio – October 7, 2026 – Hiram College men's soccer used a second half scoring frenzy to take down Thiel College 5-1 on Wednesday evening at Stoeber Field.

Thiel took a 1-0 lead late in the first half, but the Terriers quickly answered. Senior Colin Casey scored his first goal of the season to tie the game, with Jimmy Zeilmann and Maduxx McCort setting him up.

The second half was a completely different story as junior Carmine Boscarello took over, scoring four goals in a 17-minute span.

Boscarello's first goal came in the 63rd minute off a strong throw in assist from Zeilmann, giving Hiram its first lead of the night at 2-1. Just five minutes later, Boscarello found the back of the net again, heading in a corner kick from Isaac Rogenthien.

The Olmsted Falls, OH native continued to find himself around the ball, eventually knocking in his third goal of the night after tracking down a deflection off a blocked shot.

Zeilmann picked up his third assist of the night in the 80th minute, finding Boscarello once again on a header off another throw-in. The assist gave Zeilmann three assists in the game, tying Vaal Ngalla's previous program record of three assists in a game, set against Thiel in 2016. Boscarello's four goals are the second-most in program history, trailing only Andy Harding's five-goal performance against Franciscan in 2012.

Hiram controlled the game offensively, outshooting Thiel 17-4, including a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal. Derek Ufholz bounced back after allowing Thiel's first goal, making saves on the final three Tomcat shots on target.

Hiram looks to carry its momentum into Saturday's match up with Saint Francis as the Terriers celebrate Senior Day. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
