HIRAM, Ohio – October 24, 2026 – Hiram volleyball earned a win on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Waynesburg in three sets (25-20, 25-9, 25-6) to earn another PAC victory.

The win moves the Terriers to 7-1 in conference play, giving them sole possession of first place in the PAC standings.

Hiram used a strong all-around performance to take control of the match, capitalizing on Waynesburg's mistakes while making plays on both sides of the net.

The Yellow Jackets kept things competitive in the opening set, but the Terriers pulled away with a 25-20 win. Hiram then took control of the match, allowing just 15 points combined over the final two sets.

The second set remained close early, with Hiram holding a 12-9 advantage. That quickly changed when Courtney Johnson stepped behind the service line and helped the Terriers score 13 straight points to close out the set, 25-9. During the run, Maggie Riley contributed three kills as Hiram's defense helped shut down the Yellow Jackets' offense.

Hiram carried that momentum into the third set, opening with a 13-1 lead. Riley added three more kills during the stretch, while Sofia Smotek chipped in with two kills of her own.

Waynesburg managed to score two consecutive points, but the Terriers responded with nine straight points to finish the set 25-6 and complete the sweep.

Riley paced the Terriers with 12 kills and two blocks, while Megan Chiang finished with eight kills and three aces. Johnson helped lead the offense with 21 assists and three aces, and Jacey English recorded 11 digs and three aces.

The Terriers will return home Wednesday as they welcome Westminster for a 7 p.m. matchup. Hiram will look to carry its momentum forward and keep its place at the top of the PAC standings.
