HIRAM, Ohio – January 17, 2026 – The Hiram men's basketball team welcomed the Presidents of Washington and Jefferson College for an afternoon meeting for the first time since 2019. The Terriers hung with the current leader of the PAC South, but eventually fell short, 95-82, inside Price Gymnasium.
It was a back-and-forth matchup, with no team gaining a clear edge over the other. The Terriers were led by an offensive explosion, with 10 different players etching their name in the scoring column. The game was knotted at halftime, as both teams were shooting lights out. But it was the offense of W&J in the second that prevailed in the end, but not without a hard-fought effort from the Terriers.Â
The Terriers were led by the impressive play of Collin Jones, who finished with 20 points on 7-8 shooting from the field. This is Jones's fourth consecutive game with 10 or more points, as his performance today netted a new season-high point total.Â
Not far behind finished Brock Makrancy, who had an outstanding shooting day, dropping 15 points on 5-9 from the field and 3-5 from behind the arc. Makrancy has continued his outstanding shooting form, as he currently sits at 49.4% from the field and 50% from 3.
Finally, dropping 10 points off of the bench was Mitchell Wiechecki, who finished 5-12 from the field.Â
The Terriers will be back in action on Wednesday, when they travel to Meadville, PA, to face the Gators of Allegheny for an 8 p.m. tip-off.Â
