HIRAM, Ohio - September 27, 2025 - Hiram was steady all game long on Saturday at Saint Vincent, scoring at least one touchdown in every quarter of a 40-38 win over the Bearcats at Chuck Noll Field. The win marks the Terriers first in the Presidents' Athletic Conference this season; the last time the team won a conference game in the PAC was in 1989, when Hiram last competed as a full-time member of the conference.
It's a critical win for the Terriers, who are now one of four teams in the conference with multiple wins up to this point in the season. Hiram's offense also continues to click, with at least 27 points in all four games this fall.
Sean Tejeda continued his historic start to the campaign, going 25-for-38 for 399 yards and four touchdowns through the air. With 1,435 passing yards and 14 passing touchdowns already this season, Tejeda is statistically on pace to produce the greatest passing season in the history of Hiram Football – which also is currently ranked among the top-10 in all of Division III in multiple categories.
Devin Tufts caught 10 of those passes for a career-high 179 yards and two touchdowns, while Isaiah Livingstone was a force in the ground game with 17 carries for 95 yards and two more TDs. On defense, Hiram's Kade Scott and Gavin Cruser each had an interception and Cruser and Elijah Southern each had a fumble recovery to round out the notable performers in the barnburner of a game.
Hiram took a 14-7 lead into the intermission thanks to solid play on both sides of the ball. Livingstone and Tufts scored touchdowns in the first and second quarters respectively, while the defense had three takeaways to keep the opposition from grabbing a lead. The Terriers goalline defense also had a stop at the one-yard line to highlight a low-scoring start to the game.
It was much more of a seesaw affair in the second half, with the two teams combining for eight touchdowns and one field goal during that span. Among the explosive plays was a 62-yard touchdown pass from Tejeda to Tufts, which helped Hiram pull ahead, 34-17, with 14:14 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Saint Vincent responded with 10 straight points, but an eight-play, 65-yard touchdown drive from the Terriers carved out a 40-31 lead for the road team with 2:12 to play. That drive included seven rushing plays, capped by a one-yard TD run from Livingstone.
The Bearcats scored on the ensuing possession, but Hiram sealed the contest by converting a fourth down on the opposing 45-yard line to run out the rest of the clock.
The Terriers will now get set for Homecoming, with the team set to take on Washington & Jefferson next Saturday at 1 p.m. from Henry Field in Hiram, OH.
