OBERLIN, Ohio - August 31, 2025 - The Hiram men's soccer team lost, 4-0, to Oberlin in a Sunday afternoon match at Shults Field, opening the team's 2025 season with a tough challenge against a former conference opponent from the NCAC.
The Terriers put the Yeomen to the test throughout the 90 minutes, recording three shots on target and eight total shots throughout the match, but the balanced attack of the Yeomen proved to be too much to handle.
Oberlin was in a rhythm throughout the day, getting goals in the first, 21st, 63rd and 86th minute of the game. Louis Gandelheid slotted his first and second goal of the year to lead Oberlin, giving the home team a 2-0 lead at the intermission and eventually a 4-0 non-conference win.
The Terriers were led by Carmine Boscarello and Colin Casey, who each recorded a shot on goal and had multiple shot attempts. Reginal Johnson led all Terriers with three shots, one of which was on target.
Hiram will be back in action for their home opener on Wednesday evening at Henry Field, as they welcome Heidelberg University for a 7 p.m. start.
