LEXINGTON, Kentucky - April 11, 2025 - Hiram opened its first and only three-game series of the season on Friday night, falling to Asbury, 8-0, at Legends Field.
Despite the result, the game provided a special opportunity for the team to play on a professional baseball field under the lights. Legends Field is the home of the Lexington Legends, which is part of the Atlantic League.
The Terriers had six different players record a base hit, while Jacob Koces allowed just two earned runs over four innings (four total runs). Sam Boyle also logged four quality innings of relief to set the pitching staff up well for a doubleheader on Saturday, which will be played back on the campus of Asbury University in Wilmore, KY.
The Eagles won the game thanks to the efforts of Quinn Nobles, who went 4-for-4 out of the second spot in the home batting order. The left fielder capped the game off with a solo home run in the eighth inning.
Hiram will look to bounce back for the final two games of the series, which now begin at 3 p.m. from the on-campus Zweifel Field on Saturday.
