HIRAM, Ohio – February 22, 2025 – Hiram cruised to a straight-set win over Bethany on Saturday afternoon inside Price Gymnasium, improving the team's record to 2-0 in conference play and 7-5 overall.
Hiram was in complete control throughout the match, which was highlighted by a .625 hitting percentage in the first set before a smooth final two sets rounded out the victory. The Terriers had 15 different student-athletes log action in the match, five of whom recorded at least four kills: Kyle Martini (six), Cullen Sivak (four), Colin Brooks (four), Dakotah Welsh (four) and Jackson Deubner (four).
The setting was split between Matthew Albano (13 assists) and Darren Chiang (12 assists), with Albano also recording a team-high three service aces. That tandem was responsible for Hiram's 32-to-9 ratio between kills and attack errors, a striking disparity that led to a match of just over one hour.
The Terriers will continue through their PAC schedule with another conference matchup against Grove City; the match is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Grove City, PA.
