HIRAM, Ohio - December 6, 2025 - Hiram went neck-and-neck with a talented Grove City on Saturday late afternoon, but an 11-0 run by the opposition midway through the second half proved to be the difference in a 65-57 loss at Price Gymnasium.
The Terriers trailed by only 1 point at the intermission and cut a 14-point deficit in the second half to just 4 points, but the team couldn't muster enough late magic to pull off the victory in the intense affair.
Freshman Drovinsky Ulysse had a team-high 14 points off the bench, while senior Brock Makrancy went 3-for-3 from beyond the perimeter and finished with 9 points as the starting wing. Dushawn Hill had three assists and Tristan Martin-Marshall had a pair of blocks to round out the biggest contributors on the day.
Hiram won the bench points battle, 37-10, while the 26-point outburst from Mike Christenson fueled the Wolverines offense. Included in that flurry of Grove City offense was 11 consecutive points, which turned Hiram's 45-42 deficit into a 56-42 margin.
Ulysse and the balanced contributions of the Terriers roster cut the difference to just 61-57, but Grove City held on for the win.
Hiram will have a chance to bounce back on Wednesday, when it hosts Case Western Reserve at 7:30 p.m. inside Price Gymnasium in Hiram, OH.
