Caceres Sets New Program Records With 43 Pts, 11 3-pt FG In Win vs PSU-Shenango

Terriers Sophomore Posts Historic Performance In 1st Home Victory Of 2025-26

HIRAM, Ohio – December 20, 2025 – Hiram's Isabella Caceres set the program record for both points (43) and 3-pointers (11) in a single game in program history on Saturday afternoon, while also adding seven rebounds and nine assists in a 98-70 win over Penn State Shenango inside Price Gymnasium.

The 43-point game passed Cassie Bedard (37 points vs Kenyon in 2005) for the most points by a Terriers student-athlete all-time, while the 11 3-pointers passed Anastasia Lawler (9 vs SUNY Delhi in 2024 and 9 at Penn State Shenango in 2024) atop the record books, too.

Beyond the elite shooting from the sophomore, Caceres also tallied nine assists; she scored or assisted on 65% (64 of 98 points) of Hiram's points in the game.

"I felt good," Caceres said following the victory. "We just did our thing. I was hitting (my shots)."

Caceres sunk three 3-pointers in the first quarter and then followed it up with another 8 points in the second quarter, giving her 17 points at the intermission. As a team, Hiram shot over 45% from the field in the second quarter alone, which propelled the Terriers to a 48-27 advantage heading into the locker room.

The Cypress, CA native continued her shooting spree in the third quarter, draining another three 3-pointers during that span, including a buzzer-beating triple to give Hiram a 72-47 lead. At that point, Caceres had 26 points and seven 3-pointers, both of which were already new career-highs.

The dominance didn't stop in the fourth quarter either, as Caceres made four threes in a span of two minutes – with each shot coming from the right wing. The crowd was in awe, while the Terriers bench exploded with excitement.

Another basket in the final minute gave Caceres 43 points to seal the win, which also marked Hiram's first inside Price Gymnasium this season.

It was also a breakout day for senior Sarah Seaman, who posted a career-high 22 points on an efficient 8-15 shooting (3-6 on 3-pt FG). The Garrettsville, OH native has been consistent all season long, scoring in double-figures in eight of the team's nine games.

Maya Joiner had a double-double (11 points, 13 rebounds) and Advika Srinivasan had 7 points off the bench to round out the team's biggest contributions.

Hiram will enjoy the holiday break before returning to the hardwood on Wednesday, Dec. 31 for a home game against Penn State Behrend at 3 p.m.
