CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio - November 15, 2025 - Hiram men's ice hockey capped off its weekend in style, scoring late in the third period to force an overtime in a game that ultimately ended in a shootout win at The Pond.
Â
Anthony Arthurs delivered the game-tying score, working with Eddie Gustin to even the score at 3-3 with just over four minutes remaining in the third period. The defense, which was anchored by a 52-save performance from Ian Amaranto, held firm the rest of the way, including throughout a 3-on-3, five-minute overtime period.
Â
After seven straight misses in the shootout, Hiram's Cole Mitchell broke through and found the back of the net to earn his team the shootout win in front of a supportive home crowd. It was the first game of the season to advance to an overtime period and a shootout, and gives Hiram some momentum heading into an extended break to close out the month of November.
Â
Also scoring in the game was Tyler Arthurs on an unassisted goal in the first period, as well as Noah Proulx on a redirected shot from Tyler Arthurs. It marked the first goal in Proulx's Hiram career, too.
Â
The Terriers will stay home and next host Buffalo State on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 3:55 p.m. from The Pond in Chagrin Falls, OH.
