Hiram Falls Short In Comeback Attempt To Saint Vincent

Hiram Falls 2-1 Despite Early Equalizer

Hiram, Ohio – October 4,2025 – Hiram men's soccer was defeated by Saint Vincent College, 2-1, on a Saturday late afternoon contest at Henry Field.

The Terriers fought hard in a back-and-forth contest, but it was the plays made by the Bearcats that made them victorious. Hiram did have moments that were outstanding, including an equalizer and a penalty save.

The first half of the game was very competitive, with neither side gaining one over the other. Then, finally, in the late stages of the first half, the Bearcats opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal to take the early advantage.

It did not take long for the Terriers to respond.

Three minutes later, Chance McGinnis made a run down the right sideline, where he made a crucial pass to find Jayden Julian, who put the ball in the right-hand corner to tie the game back up and send everyone tied into the half. It marked the first goal of the campaign for Julian.

The second half was very similar to the beginning of the first half, with both teams were fighting for every yard on the field. The Bearcats eventually ended up taking the lead back in the 69th minute, but the Terriers wouldn't go down easily.

In the 80th minute, the Bearcats drew a penalty with a chance to go up two goals, and Derek Ufholz ended up making an impressive save to keep the Terriers in the game.

The Bearcats would hold on for the victory, but not without the fight and drive by the Terrier attack and defense.

Hiram men's soccer will be back in action again at Henry Field on Wednesday when they host Grove City College for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
