Terriers Clean Sweep Golden Tornadoes At Home

Hiram Pushes To 9-Game Win Streak, Improves Overall Record To 21-2

HIRAM, Ohio - October 29, 2025 – Hiram rolled in their midweek conference matchup against the Golden Tornadoes in three sets on Wednesday evening at Price Gymnasium, pushing the team to a 12-1 record in PAC play and 21-2 overall record and further protecting a nine-game win streak. With 21 wins, Hiram now has its second-most wins in a single season over the last 10 seasons (23 wins in 2018).

Hiram capitalized on Geneva's 21 attack errors throughout the match, as the Terriers finished each set with a double-digit advantage: 25-10, 25-14, 25-9. Hiram started the first set with a 9-1 lead, the second set with a 7-2 lead, and the third set with a 9-2 lead. Those three scoring runs were more than enough to carry the home team to a convincing win, as the Terriers never trailed through the final whistle.

Individually, Sofia Smotek had a team-high 13 kills, while Maggie Riley added 11 kills of her own. Setter Kelly Hoffman had team-highs in assists (27) and digs (19), while first-year Erin Winfield also put up numbers on both ends of the court, ending the match with three total blocks, five kills, zero attack errors and an attack percentage of .714.

Next up, the Terriers hit the road to West Virginia as they take on the Bethany College Bison on Saturday at 11 a.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court at Hummel Fieldhouse.
