BETHANY, West Virginia - November 1, 2025 – Hiram hit the ground running in their Saturday afternoon conference road match against the Bethany Bison, taking the match in a 3-0 sweep: 25-20, 25-13, 25-18. This win pushes the Terriers to 13-1 in conference play and 22-2 overall, pushing their current win streak to 10. With a win this upcoming Wednesday against Grove City, Hiram would clinch the No. 1 overall seed in the PAC Tournament, as well as securing the PAC North Division title for the regular season.
First-year
Sofia Smotek further contributed to her second-place spot on the PAC leaderboards for both kills and points, putting up 11 kills and 12 points in the three-set match. Tying Smotek in Saturday's match for kills was junior
Maggie Riley, who put up 11 kills. Smotek and Riley combined for 22 of Hiram's 43 kills in the match.
Also contributing for the blue and red was
Kelly Hoffman with a team-high 29 assists and
Brooke Fishback with a team-high 17 digs.
Hiram never trailed by more than 1 point for the entirety of the match; among the team's many dominant runs was a 12-1 run to open the second set, which eventually led to a convincing finish in the sweep.
Next up, the Terriers travel to Grove City on Wednesday for an evening conference matchup at 6:30 p.m. at the Grove City College Arena.
