HIRAM, Ohio - October 25, 2025 - Hiram held its opposition in check throughout a low-scoring game on Saturday afternoon, as the Terriers battled and found opportunities to take a lead before ultimately falling to Allegheny, 28-13, at Henry Field.
Â
Sean Tejeda, who set the program record last week for the most passing touchdowns in a single season (19), added to his historic season by setting the program record for passing yards in a single season. With 295 passing yards on Saturday and 2,390 passing yards in 2025, Tejeda passed Robert Partridge (2,167 passing yards in 2014) for the single-season record.
Â
Tejeda also dashed for his second rushing touchdown of the campaign after he had previously thrown a 49-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Stapleton. Stapleton finished the game with career-highs in both receptions (10) and receiving yards (135).
Â
Neither team scored until Allegheny drew first blood with a 1-yard TD pass from Carson Colucci to Devin Larry. That play marked the only offense of the first half, with the two teams combining for one touchdown over the 10 drives during that span.
Â
Hiram broke the scoring barrier to open the third quarter, when Tejeda capped off a seven-play drive with a high-arcing pass over the middle of the field to Stapleton, who took it the rest of the way for a touchdown. The Terriers missed the extra-point, making it a 7-6 deficit with 11:45 remaining in the third quarter.
Â
Allegheny made the switch at quarterback from Colucci to Nick Barker, a decision that paid dividends in the form of two passing touchdowns to close the third quarter. At that point, Allegheny held a 21-6 advantage.
Â
Hiram answered with Tejeda's 5-yard TD run, but that would be the only remaining offense for the home team in the two-possession loss.
Â
Despite the defeat, Hiram has a chance to return to .500 when it gets back to the gridiron next Saturday at 1 p.m. against Thiel from Henry Field in Hiram, OH.
