Hiram Battles In 1st Half, Falls In High-Scoring Showdown With Thiel

Terriers Lose To Tomcats In PAC Matchup

HIRAM, Ohio - November 1, 2025 - Hiram dropped a high-scoring affair to Thiel on Saturday afternoon, 48-20, as the Terriers kept close throughout the first half before the opposition pulled away in the final 30 minutes.

Sean Tejeda continued his streak of 200-yard passing games to start the year, throwing for 236 yards and two touchdowns despite the loss. Alex Barrs also ran for a touchdown, while Kevin Dycks had a team-high 74 receiving yards.

Hiram jumped out to a 6-0 lead on a five-play, 46-yard scoring drive that was capped off by an 11-yard run from Barrs out of the backfield. The offense was set up in good field position thanks to an interception from Navion Steadman, which marked the first pick in Steadman's Hiram career.

Thiel responded by 21 straight points, highlighted by a pair of 33-yard touchdown passes and a steady run game. For the day, the Tomcats finished with 210 rushing yards.

Jordan Stapleton got Hiram back on track with an 18-yard touchdown reception just past the halfway point in the second quarter, putting the deficit at 9 points. Tejeda then ran it in on a two-point conversion attempt to make it 21-14.

Thiel regained control following the intermission, with the team's running back tandem consistently picking up first downs and taking control of the clock. Hiram showed promise when Kevin Dycks caught an 11-yard TD pass, but turnovers and missed opportunities led to the four-possession margin at the end of the game.

The Terriers will return to the field next Saturday, when they travel to Westminster for a road battle with the Titans at 1 p.m.
