WASHINGTON, Pennsylvania – October 25 2025 – The Terriers took care of business on the road in conference and non conference play in a tri-match hosted by Washington and Jefferson on Saturday afternoon, taking home two clean sweeps over W&J and Wilmington. The two wins improve Hiram's overall record to 20-2 and PAC record to 11-1, putting the team in the driver's seat to win the PAC North Division (two-game lead) and potentially clinch homecourt advantage for the entirety of the PAC Tournament.
Megan Chiang helped the day for the Terriers, tallying nine kills against W&J before rattling off 16 kills and zero attack errors in the match against Wilmington, giving her a career-best hitting percentage of .516 in the latter of the two matches.
Sofia Smotek had a team-high 26 kills between the two matches, with 13 in each.
Kelly Hoffman paced the team in assists (26 and 40), while Chiang also contributed on the defensive end in the digs department (10 and 19).
It was also a day for the first-year student-athletes, as
Erin Winfield and
Angelina Weems stepped up in different ways to spearhead Hiram in its final stretch of the regular season.
Winfield, who played in all six sets on the day, tallied six total blocks in the match against W&J and then another pair in the match against Wilmington College. She also finished off the afternoon with six kills and only a single error, making moves on both sides of the court. Weems also played a key role, coming in clutch in the third and final set against Wilmington by putting up three kills, one of which came late in the third set.
Next up, the Terriers return home for a midweek conference match up against the Geneva Golden Tornadoes at 7 p.m. in Price Gymnasium.
