BETHANY, West Virginia – October 14,2025 - The Hiram men's soccer team traveled to Bethany College on Tuesday afternoon for a crucial PAC matchup. The game was very evenly matched, with both sides fighting for PAC position, but Hiram came out on top with a 1-0 victory.
Both teams were deadlocked in the first half, with neither side gaining a clear advantage over the other. Neither side ended up scoring in the first 45 minutes, with the game still at 0-0. Then, early in the second half, the Terriers broke through, gaining a 1-0 lead that ended up being the deciding goal in the game.
In the 53rd minute of the game, the Terriers earned a throw-in deep in the Bethany zone. Jimmy Zeilmann took the throw-in and launched it into the box, where he found Garrett Riley, who kicked it towards the center of the box, where Carmine Boscarello was standing before he headed it into the back of the net.
While that goal decided the game, the Terrier defense also played a huge role in the contest. Derek Ufholz recorded another clean sheet and made six saves in the match, while the Terrier backline only allowed 13 total shots all game.
This crucial win moves the Terriers to 3-3-1 in PAC play, as they look to keep their form and move up in the standings.
The Hiram men's soccer team will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, when they host Geneva College for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
