NEW WILMINGTON, Pennsylvania – October 1,2025 – The Hiram men's soccer team defeated Westminster College, 3-0, on Wednesday late afternoon in a PAC battle. This marks the second win in PAC play of the season, and the Terriers' fifth consecutive match with a win or draw.
The Terrier offense was in full force, consistently attacking the Westminster defense and creating chances throughout the match. The Terrier defense also remained dominant, as this is their fifth consecutive clean sheet and it came courtesy of only allowing five shots on goal.
The Terriers struck in the first half early, when Jimmy Zeilmann placed a cross from a free kick into the box where the ball found Colin Casey, who calmly slotted the ball into the left corner to take the lead.
Then, close to halftime, Chance McGinnis took the ball on the wing and crossed it into the middle, where the ball found Matthew Cederbloom, who smashed it past the goalkeeper for his fourth goal on the season. The score gave the Terriers a two-goal advantage heading into the break.
In the middle of the second half, a missed kick by the Westminster goalkeeper allowed Casey to get the ball once again, as he chipped the keeper and scored from outside the penalty box for his second goal of the game.
That was all the scoring that Hiram needed to secure a victory. This win now puts them among the top spots in contention for the PAC, as they now move to 6-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the PAC.
Hiram men's soccer will be back in action on Saturday, when they host Saint Vincent College as part of the Homecoming festivities; kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. at Henry Field in Hiram, OH.
