Boscarello Scores 1st Career Goal In Road Loss To Olivet

Hiram Scores Season-High 2 Goals Despite Defeat

OLIVET, Michigan - September 7, 2024 - Hiram increased its goal total for the third straight game, but the rise in offense wasn't enough in a 4-2 loss to Olivet on Saturday afternoon.

The Terriers saw Carmine Boscarello record his first career goal, but the opposition improved its record to 3-0 on its home soil.

Hiram fell behind in the 14th minute on an Olivet goal by Abraham Jimenez, which proved to be just one of the Comets' two shots on goal in the first 45 minutes. For the entire first half, Hiram outshot Olivet, 5-4.

Hiram scored in the 21st minute before Olivet responded nearly 13 minutes later with a goal of its own. Then came Caiden Smith, who put the finishing touches on the game with his second and third goals of the season in the 41st and 77th minutes.

Boscarello found the back of the net for the first time in his collegiate career in the 71st minute, but Smith's offensive surge was enough to be the difference in the later stages of the contest.

The Terriers will finish off their two-game road trip next Saturday, when they travel to Beaver Falls, PA for a matchup with Geneva at 7:30 p.m.
