GRANVILLE, Ohio – May 4, 2024 – Hiram wrapped up its weekend at the NCAC Championships on Saturday, as the men placed ninth and the women placed 10
th in the biggest outdoor event of the season.
Men's Recap
Jarvis Thompson nearly earned All-NCAC honors in the triple jump, placing fourth in the field with a mark of 13.35m. Thompson had earned all-conference in the same event during the indoor season.
In the shot put,
Christian Berish nearly landed in the top-10 with a throw of 11.98m. It caps off a consistent year for Berish, who set a new PR that also ranks 19
th across the conference for the 2024 season.
Women's Recap
After qualifying for the 100-meter hurdles on Friday,
Trezure Bates posted a finals time of 15.93 seconds to land fifth in the field of eight student-athletes and earn her team four points. Bates also placed eighth in the pole vault (2.81m) earlier in the event.
The shot put was one of the team's strengths on the women's side, too, with
Sam Volpe leading the way with a ninth-place mark of 11.03m.
Hiram's 4x100-meter relay team posted a time of 56.39, a group of first-year athletes that have continued to improve throughout the campaign:

Sarah Douglas,
Kelsey Downs and
Ranita DiMarco.
What's Next
Hiram has two events remaining on its schedule: the Harrison Dillard Twilight on Friday, May 10 and the Mount Union Last Chance meet on Thursday, May 16.
