Pilgram Scores 6 More Goals In Loss To Pfeiffer

Terriers Finish North Carolina Trip With 1-1 Record

MISENHEIMER, North Carolina - March 6, 2024 - The Hiram men's lacrosse team lost to Pfieffer, 23-7, on Wednesday afternoon to wrap up its two-game trip to North Carolina.

Despite the loss, Noah Pilgram recorded his fourth straight game with at least six goals, as he added another six scores against the non-conference opponent. The Terriers also kept pace with their opposition throughout the second half, matching the Falcons, 6-6.

Pfieffer's offense was in a groove in the first half, tallying 17 of its 23 goals during that span. Zach DeFazio led the way with seven goals, while three other student-athletes had three goals.

Hiram would regroup in the second half, with Pilgram scoring his second and third goals toward the end of the third quarter. The Hiram defense held the Falcons to just two goals in that third quarter, with Aidan Griffin finishing the afternoon with 18 saves, which nears his career-high 21 saves from last year (done twice vs Oberlin and Wittenberg).

The Terriers would rattle off four straight goals between the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth quarter, two of which were man-up goals by Pilgram. Brett Johnson also added a goal, but Pfeiffer would score four of the final five goals to seal the contest.

Hiram will return home and look to build upon their 1-1 trip to North Carolina; the team will next be in action on Wednesday, March 13 at 7 p.m.
