HIRAM, Ohio - March 20, 2024 - Hiram lost to Oberlin, 19-2, in its conference opener on Wednesday evening at Henry Field.
The Terriers played their best lacrosse in the fourth quarter, when the visiting Yeomen outscored them by just one goal (3-2). Senior Brett Johnson scored both of the goals, giving him 18 goals for the season.
Oberlin set the tone early on, scoring six goals in each of the first two quarters to gain some breathing room. Jacob Starcke led all student-athletes in the game with eight goals.
Hiram's Ethan Biton had a team-high four ground balls, while Levi Willett and Noah Pilgram each had two caused turnovers to round out the notable production.
The Terriers will take nine days off before returning to the field on Saturday, March 30 against DePauw at 1 p.m. in Greencastle, Indiana.
