Martini And Deubner Have Strong Showing On Saturday

AURORA, New York - March 16, 2024 - Hiram bounced back from a slow start and won in four sets on its trip to New York with a victory against Wells College on Saturday.

The Terriers currently stand at 13-11 after the win and are now 3-1 in conference play this season.

Kyle Martini and Jackson Deubner played well, as they led the team in kills with 12 each. Martini also led the Terriers in aces (four), blocks (five) and digs (six), while Deubner shared the team lead in digs (six). Matthew Albano helped the team in the assist category, as he tallied 39 assists to fuel the offense.

On the defensive side, Hiram held its opponent to a .111 hitting percentage overall with a -.200 percentage in the second set. Wells won the first set, 25-14, but Hiram quickly changed the momentum of the match with a 25-16 win in the second set. Wells was unable to score 20 points again in the final two sets, as Hiram played great defense to finish the game in convincing fashion.
