Hiram Drops Road Battle To Oberlin

Terriers Get 3 Shots On Target On Wednesday

OBERLIN, Ohio – October 23, 2024 – The Hiram men's soccer team lost to Oberlin, 4-0, on Wednesday evening at Shults Field.

The Terriers fought hard throughout the 90 minutes, recording a trio of shots on target and fending off six of Oberlin's shots on goal, but a second-half surge by the Yeomen proved to be the difference.

Oberlin had four goals by four different student-athletes in the match, three of which came in a span of 15 minutes in the second half. Anthony Pacewicz scored in the 63rd minute, Leo Pelizzari-Astle in the 71st minute and Walter Gomez-Torrez in the 75th minute.

The Yeomen had 14 of their 20 shots in the second half, putting pressure on a talented Hiram defense.

The Terriers were led by the freshmen tandem of Erik Rangel Negrete and Carmine Boscarello, who each had a shot on goal and multiple total shot attempts.

Hiram will get another crack at a loaded NCAC schedule on Saturday, when it travels to Greencastle, IN for a 4 p.m. match vs DePauw at Reavis Stadium.
