GRANVILLE, Ohio - January 24, 2024 - Trent Jakacki added to his historic season despite Hiram's 99-70 loss to Denison on Wednesday night inside Livingston Gymnasium.
Jakacki went 11-17 from the field for 26 points, raising his season scoring average to 22.5 PPG, which ranks among the top-10 in all of Division III. No Terriers student-athlete over the last 35 seasons has averaged that many points per game in a single season.
The junior from Hiram, Ohio also chipped in 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal over 33 minutes. James Moore joined him in the starting backcourt and added 13 points in his third game with the team.
Hiram raised its field goal percentage from 42% in the first half (15-36) to 54% in the second half (14-26). The uptick in offense was matched by Denison; six different Big Red student-athletes scored in double-figures to lead one of the top teams in the NCAC to victory.
The Terriers will look to get back in the win column when they travel to Gambier, Ohio on Saturday for an NCAC game against Kenyon at 3 p.m. inside Tomsich Arena.
