HIRAM, Ohio - July 25, 2023 - The Hiram women's basketball team welcomed Skye Green as one of its assistant coaches for the 2023-24 season this week.

Coach Green joins Hiram College after playing five years of Division I basketball at the forward position, most recently at Texas Southern University from 2020-23, an HBCU located in Houston, Texas. Green spent the first two seasons of her collegiate career at UNC Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina from 2018-20.

"We're really excited to have Coach Green join our staff," head women's basketball coach Alex Dellas said. "She brings five years of collegiate experience to our program and will make an immediate impact with our student-athletes."

Green was a key part of the Texas Southern frontcourt this past season, logging 12 starts and scoring in all but 1 of her 17 games played. She scored a career-high 11 points against Prairie View A&M on January 28, 2023, and had 8 rebounds in a pair of games against Alabama A&M and Bethune-Cookman.

The Palm Coast, Florida native finished her collegiate career with 73 games played between Texas Southern (55) and UNC Asheville (18).

Prior to college, Green had a standout career at Flagler-Palm Coast High School as a four-year letterwinner in basketball and member of the track and field team. Green was part of two District Championship-winning teams and earned a number of awards for her efforts on the court:

Green also taught the fundamentals of basketball and served as a mentor for younger basketball players while in high school.

The Terriers open their season on November 14 at home against Fredonia. Dellas, Green and the rest of the Hiram roster will look to increase Hiram's win total for the fourth straight season.
