Terriers Get Strong Performances From Walker Jr., Bansek, Conley

WOOSTER, Ohio - April 29, 2023 - The Hiram baseball team lost both of its games to Wooster on Saturday, 16-6 and 8-2, from Art Murray Field.

Hal Walker Jr., Evan Fairbanks and Connor Bansek each had multi-hit performances in Game 1 – including a 3-run homer by Bansek – while Jack Conley allowed just 4 ER over 7 innings on the mound in Game 2.

The Terriers will have a quick turnaround and host Grove City on Monday at 4:30 p.m.

Game 1 Recap

Hiram drew first blood in Game 1 thanks to RBI singles by Walker Jr. and Fairbanks in the first inning. Two innings later, Bansek drove his second career home run to left field to give the Terriers a 5-3 advantage.

The Wooster offense was able to score 13 runs over the final 4 innings to reclaim the lead. Hiram added a run on a Michael Corsillo RBI single, but couldn't overcome the deficit as the game progressed.
