Hiram Celebrates Senior Day For Trevor Flugum; Battles Hard vs DePauw

Terriers Fall Short In Conference Clash

HIRAM, Ohio - April 22, 2023 - The Hiram lacrosse team celebrated the career of Trevor Flugum on Saturday, honoring the senior with a pregame ceremony and video before taking on DePauw in a NCAC battle at Henry Field.

The Terriers fell short in the game, 18-3, but started strong early on and finished with a man-down goal in the fourth quarter. Noah Pilgram scored 2 goals – including that man-down goal with 6:45 remaining in the game – to lead the team and give him 8 different games this season with multiple goals.

Brett Johnson opened the scoring for Hiram with his 10th goal of the season. The Terriers would pull ahead, 1-0, and Johnson had a new career-high for goals in a single season.

DePauw was able to score 14 straight goals between the first and fourth quarters to take the lead and earn their second conference win of the year. Connor Gibson and Jack Flynn each had 5 goals for the Tigers.

For Flugum, it was a day to remember alongside his parents and teammates as the sun finally peaked through the clouds at Henry Field. The midfielder will finish his Hiram career with 29 goals and 23 assists over 35 games played.

The Simi Valley, California native is a Sport Management major with an Entrepreneurship minor. He plans to move back home and coach high school football and lacrosse following his graduation from Hiram.

Hiram will play its final home game of the season on Tuesday, when the Big Red of Denison come into town for a 7 p.m. start.
