HIRAM, Ohio - March 22, 2023 - Hiram moved one win closer to tying its longest win streak in program history with a commanding 16-4 win over Earlham College on Wednesday at Henry Field.
The Terriers defense continued to shine with its fifth game allowing fewer than 5 goals. Ambrose Colliluori had a game-high 4 goals, while Trey Carter and Ethan Mayer added 3 goals apiece. Brett Johnson won 15 of 20 faceoffs to go along with his 9 ground balls.
Hiram's 4-game win streak is one shy of its program record from 2019, when it won the first 5 games of the season.Â
Right from the start, Hiram's offense made its presence felt with five unanswered goals in the first quarter. Each of the five goals came from a different Hiram player, and each of the five goals were assisted.
Earlham found success with 3 goals in the second period, but the Terriers added another 4 goals to take a 9-3 lead into the intermission. Carter scored Hiram's final 2 goals in the quarter and finished the night with his second straight multi-goal game.
Hiram would coast the rest of the way, outscoring the Quakers 7-1 in the second half to earn its first winning record of the season (5-4 overall).
For Colliluori, who was recently named to the USILA Division III Team of the Week, the 4 goals marks his fourth straight game with 3+ goals, all of which ended in a Terriers victory.
Next up is the beginning of NCAC competition, with Hiram visiting Wabash on Saturday at 1 p.m.
