BUFFALO, New York - March 15, 2023 - Hiram had 6 different players record a goal behind another strong defensive performance in a 10-4 victory over Medaille on Wednesday afternoon at the Medaille Sports Complex.
Ambrose Colliluori had his 2nd straight game with 3+ goals, while Brett Johnson added his first multi-goal performance (2 goals) of the campaign. Noah Pilgram scored 2 goals and Bricen Jones, Ethan Mayer and Micky Morgan each chipped in 1 goal.
On the defensive end, Hiram had 6 caused turnovers and held its opposition to fewer than 5 goals for the third time this season. Freshman Aidan Griffin saved another 7 shots to fend off the Mavericks attack.
The victory gives the Terriers their first winning streak of the season and moves them 1 win closer to a .500 record. Hiram has also scored 10+ goals in consecutive games for the first time since March last year.
Hiram had a balanced offense right from the start, with Mayer, Morgan, Pilgram and Colliluori scoring 1 goal apiece to lift the team to a 4-2 lead after one quarter. Colton Keane had both goals for Medaille in the first 15 minutes.
The Terriers defense settled in for the middle portion of the game, as the team outscored its opposition, 5-0, in the second and third quarters combined. Johnson had 2 goals during that span, including a goal on a man-up opportunity.
Keane would score the final 2Â goals of the game and be responsible for all of Medaille's offense, but Hiram's dominance in the middle-two quarters proved to be the difference.Â
The Terriers will seek their first three-game winning streak in nearly a year when they face La Roche on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
