Hiram Records 1st Shutout In Program History Against Mount St. Joseph

Terriers Dominate On Both Ends Of Field

HIRAM, Ohio - March 13, 2023 - The Hiram men's lacrosse team posted its first shutout in program history on Monday, beating Mount St. Joseph by an 11-0 score at Henry Field.

The Terriers have now held their opponents to 3 and 0 goals in both of their victories this season. The team's overall record improves to 2-4, with 3 more non-conference games still to play before the NCAC slate begins on March 25 at Wabash.

Since the program began in 2013, there have been 5 instances of the team holding its opponents to 3-or-fewer goals. Two of those instances have come this season against Bethany (3 goals allowed) and now Mount St. Joseph (0).

It was a dominant effort on both sides of the ball, with Ambrose Colliluori tallying a game-high 4 goals and Micky Morgan scoring 3 goals for the second straight game. Brett Johnson, Aaron Gardner, Trevor Nordstrom and Noah Pilgram also scored a goal apiece, while the defense combined for 22 caused turnovers and goalkeeper Aidan Griffin had 7 saves.

Hiram outshot the Lions in the first quarter (15-2), second quarter (8-4) and third quarter (15-2). Nordstrom opened the scoring before Colliluori and Morgan exchanged goals throughout the remainder of the contest. Ethan Mayer assisted on two goals, one for each of the team's leading scorers.

For the season, Colliluori leads the team with 12 goals, while Morgan is right behind him with 8 goals in his first collegiate season. Pilgram ranks third after scoring his 7th goal of the campaign.

The Terriers will have a quick turnaround and take on Medaille on Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Buffalo, New York.
