Box Score Hiram, OH -- Sept. 4, 2022 -- The Hiram College Women's Soccer team dueled Bluffton University to a 2-2 tie on Sunday afternoon on Henry Field at the Hiram campus.Â
The Terriers has two leads in the game, 1-0 and, 2-1, but Bluffton rallied to tie the score each time. Hiram took a 1-0 lead on a goal by senior mid-fielder
Ashley Sandru at 9:18 of the first half. The Terriers took that 1-0 advantage into halftime.Â
Bluffton tied the game at 1-1 on a goal by Kelsie Gladieux at 59:01, on an assist from Nina McGinn. With 19:31 remaining in the game, Bluffton's Katlin Sanning suffered a non-contact injury and the game was delayed for the next 26 minutes.When play resumed, Hiram scored at 82:44 on a goal by sophomore mid-fielder
Emily Turk for a 2-1 lead. Just 43 seconds later, Bluffton's McGinn knotted the score at 2-2.
Hiram's junior goaltender Skylar Huda made five saves while Bluffton goaltender Brielle Collier stopped three shots on goal. With a win and tie this weekend, Hiram now has a record of 1-1-1, while Bluffton has two ties and a loss in three games.Â
The Terriers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 7, when they host Wilmington at 7PM.Â
