HIRAM, Ohio – October 24, 2026 – Hiram College women's soccer celebrated its eight seniors on Saturday evening at Henry Field with a 3-0 victory over Bethany.

Before kickoff, the Terriers recognized their senior class for their contributions to the program, making one of their final game at Henry Field a memorable one. This year's senior class included Kali Baker, Gabby Mangini, Becca Devericks, Vanessa Anthony, Sarah Douglas, Emma Deffenbaugh, Reagan Mory, and Hailey Eastwood.

Hiram came out attacking early, keeping pressure on the Bison defense. Freshman Sydney Kates and Miranda Bena each recorded shots on goal in the opening minutes before Vanessa Anthony added another scoring opportunity.

Kates continued to create chances for the Terriers, sending a shot toward the net from the open field that was stopped by a strong defensive play from Bethany.

Hiram eventually broke through as Ava Little connected with Devericks for her first career goal in the red and blue. The senior received a perfectly placed through ball from Little, setting up a one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper. Devericks finished the chance by placing the ball into the upper-middle portion of the net to give the Terriers a 1-0 advantage.

The Terriers continued to apply pressure before halftime, recording six shots on goal as they carried their momentum into the break.

Hiram wasted little time adding to its lead in the second half. In the 47th minute, Bena sent a shot toward the goal that deflected into the path of Kates, who finished the opportunity to put the Terriers ahead 2-0.

From there, Hiram's defense held firm for the remainder of the contest, limiting Bethany to just three shots on goal and preventing the Bison from finding the back of the net.

Putting the finishing touches on the victory was Douglas scored who her first career goal in the 86th minute. After consistently contributing to the Terriers throughout all four years, Douglas found the back of the net off an assist from Devericks to cap off Hiram's strong offensive performance from its seniors.

Kates and Devericks led the Terriers with three shots apiece, putting two on target each. Madie Kennedy finished the evening with three saves to secure the shutout.

The victory gave Hiram its first win at Henry Field for the 2026 season while providing a memorable Senior Day for the Terriers. Hiram will finish its 2026 season at home against Westminster on Wednesday with game time set for 8 p.m.
