Box Score Hiram, OH -- Sept. 17, 2022 -- The Hiram College Football team came up against a juggernaut in the form of the DePauw gridders on Saturday afternoon at Henry Field on the Hiram campus. DePauw scored early with 17 in the first quarter and 14 more in the second to take a 31-0 bulge into halftime on the way to a 44-0 win over the Terriers.
The Tigers registered five touchdowns and kicked 3-of-3 field goal attempts. Over the last two weeks, the Tigers' have displayed their strength by winning their last two games by a combined score of 99-0.
DePauw -- one of the favorites in the North Coast Athletic Conference -- totaled 320 yards on offense with 157 on the ground and 163 through the air. DePauw quarterbacks completed an astounding 29-of-34 passes (85.3%).
Hiram quarterback were also efficient, completing 22-of-27 (81.5%) aerial attempts. Senior QB Xavier Rayero connected on 14-of17 passes for 41 yards and freshman QB
Sean Tejeda completed 6-of-8 tosses for 66 yards. The Terriers' top receiver was senior
Raequan Davis-Hereford with 10 catches for 69 yards. Fifth-year senior
Moe Yarbrough grabbed seven passes for 24 yards.
Hiram could only manage 44 yards rushing against the unyielding DePauw defense. Quarterback sacks of 43 yards left the Terriers with a net of one yard on the ground.Â
The Terriers will seek their first gridiron victory of the season next Saturday when they host Wittenberg at noon. Â
