GRANVILLE, Ohio - April 26, 2022 – Hiram College men's lacrosse fell to the Denison University Big Red, 27-1, in their final road game of the 2022 campaign on Tuesday evening at Deeds Field-Piper Stadium.
Will Kennedy got the Big Red on the scoreboard first, finding the back of the net against
Jacob Hanrahan and the Terriers' defense a little under a minute into the first quarter.
Denison would go on to score seven more goals in the period before
Ambrose Colliluori got the Terriers on the scoreboard, shooting it past the keeper with 1:17 left in the first quarter to cut Denison's lead down to 8-1.
However, the Big Red would keep the Terriers off the scoreboard the rest of the way, scoring nine goals in the second quarter to take a 17-1 lead at the halftime break. Before adding six more in the third and four more in the final period to finish off the 27-1 victory.
Hiram falls to 4-9 (0-8 NCAC) with the loss, while the Big Red remain undefeated in conference play, moving to 12-4 (8-0 NCAC) on the year.
Colliluori led the Terriers with his lone goal, the 28th of the year for the freshman attacker, and a team-high four shots.
Defensively, Hanrahan led the Terriers with four ground balls, and a team-high 15 saves.
Bricen Jones, who came in for Hanrahan midway through the third quarter, added another six saves.
The Terriers wrap up the 2022 season with their Senior Day matchup on Saturday, April 30 against the Wabash College Little Giants at 1:00 p.m. at Charles A. Henry Field at Malmisur Stadium.
