ERIE, Pa. – Friday, April 15, 2022 – Hiram baseball dropped a Friday afternoon game at Penn State Behrend by a score of 15-2.
In the top of the first inning,
Devin Houdeshell got the Terriers on the board with a two-run single scoring
Cody Wilson and
Kyle Workman.
John Berger got Behrend on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning hitting an RBI single.
Back-to-back doubles by the Lions in the next inning opened up the scoring for the home team. Colin Harger and Chase Palmer were the recipients of the two extra base hits that were followed by Zack Bowen hitting a two-run home run putting Behrend up 9-2.
Penn State Behrend tallied on six more runs between the fifth and sixth innings, winning 15-2.
Ben Gustely took the loss for Hiram falling to 1-2 on the year.
Freshmen
Jack Longar and
Jacob Koces had scoreless appearances in relief.
Kobe Hunter,
Chaisson Marrs,
Michael Corsillo, Wilson and Houdeshell all recorded hits in the contest.
Hiram has a quick turnaround playing at Denison on Saturday, April 16 with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
