Football Falls Victim to High-Scoring Wabash Offense

Tejeda Breaks School Record for Pass Attempts and Completions

Box Score Crawfordsville, IN - October 29, 2022  --  The Hiram College Football team took the opening kick-off and and drove 58 yards in 11 plays to grab a 3-0 lead on a Chris Miller 33-yard field goal, but the Wabash College Little Giants' offense could not be contained as the hosts ran up a 59-23 victory on Saturday afternoon. 

Freshman quarterback SeanTejeda had a brilliant, record-breaking game, connecting on 45-of-62 passes for 359 yards and three TDs. The young signal-caller established school records for most pass attempts and most completions in a single game.  His favorite target once again was Davis-Hereford who amassed 15 catches for 105 yards and a score.  Yarbrough was next with 11 receptions for 86 yards and a TD.  Tejeda distributed the ball to seven different receivers.

Wabash quarterback Liam Thompson threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter as the Little Giants surged to a 21-3 lead.  In the second quarter, Thompson matched the first quarter stats with another trio of TD aerials for 42 points at halftime.

The Terriers put another 14 points on the board in the second quarter to pull within 42-17 at the intermission.  Freshman QB Sean Tejeda connected with grad senior receiver Moe Yarbrough on a 24-yard pass play and senior wide receiver Raequan Davis-Hereford on a 10-yard scoring pass that capped off a 10-play, 58-yard drive.

Wabash added two scoring drives in the third quarter as the lead mounted to 56-17.  Wabash added a 39-yard field goal in the fourth quarter before Tejeda hit junior wide receiver Jarius Green on a 13-yard scoring strike to complete a drive that covered 79 yards in 12 plays.

Senior running back Malcolm Rogers -- the NCAC's leading rusher --  ran for a game-high 91 yards in 16 carries.

Junior linebacker Dylan Baliker again led the defense with 10 tackles --- including five solo hits -- and half of a tackle-for-loss.  Senior defensive lineman Terry Allison contributed nine tackles, including four solo tackles.

The Terriers will wrap up the home schedule next Saturday, November 5, when they host Hilbert at 1PM on Henry Field.
