HIRAM, Ohio - March 31, 2021 – Hiram College men's lacrosse fell to The College of Wooster Fighting Scots, 29-1, on Wednesday in their North Coast Athletic Conference opener at Charles A. Henry Field.
The Fighting Scots got the scoring started quickly, taking the lead on Ben Kennedy's first-quarter goal with 13:45 to play. From there, Wooster added eight more in the quarter and nine more in the second to take an 18-0 lead into the half.
After holding the Fighting Scots to just four goals in the third quarter, the Terriers broke the shutout and got on the scoreboard in the fourth, as
Brett Johnson scored an unassisted goal to put Hiram on the scoreboard, before Wooster wrapped up the 29-1 victory.
Johnson led the Terriers with their lone goal and a team-high three shots.
Markus Johnson led the Terriers with a team-high five ground balls, going 11-for-24 in the face-off circle.
In goal for Hiram,
Jacob Good led Hiram with seven saves, while
Jacob Hanrahan tallied three.
The Terriers will make the return trip to Wooster to wrap up their home-and-home with the Fighting Scots on Saturday, April 3 at 1:00 p.m.
