WILMINGTON, Ohio - November 6, 2021 – Hiram Terriers men's and women's swimming and diving dropped a dual meet to the Wilmington College Quakers on Saturday at the Wilmington Natatorium. The Hiram men fell to the Quakers, 164-83, while the women lost, 141-109.
Carrie Robinson got the Terriers started in the 800-meter freestyle, making the podium with a third-place finish.
Next up in the 200-meter freestyle,
Carlee Lisser earned a second-place finish with her 2:31.67 time, while on the men's side,
Gabe Farthing's time of 2:26.38 earned him a second-place finish.
Moraine Jackson and
Lilly MacDonald then both earned second-place finishes, Jackson in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:21.78, and MacDonald in the 100-meter breaststroke with a 1:29.78 time.
In event 11, Jackson picked up a first-place finish, winning the 200-meter butterfly with a 3:34.95 time, while on the men's side,
Landon Hughes and Farthing finished second and third.
Elena Rinaldi followed up Jackson's win with one of her own, taking home the 50-meter freestyle with a 30.84 time.
Dayne Sauter equaled Rinaldi on the men's side, winning the same event with a time of 25.53.
Lisser then made it three-straight wins for the women, winning the 100-meter freestyle, swimming a 1:07.19, while Sauter made it two-straight and back-to-back, winning the same event with a 57.79 time.
Down the stretch, Lisser and MacDonald each earned another first-place finish, MacDonald in the 200-meter breaststroke with a 3:18.69 time, and Lisser with a 5:12.56 time in the 400-meter freestyle. While
Xavier Jones swam a 1:33.27 in the 400-meter freestyle to win the event, while Hughes came in third with a 4:53.69 time.
In the 100-meter butterfly,
Vincent AhSam-Kreiter and Farthing swan to second and third-place finishes, while both Rinaldi and Sauter earned second-place finishes in the next event, the 100-meter individual medley.
Wrapping up the day, both Hiram's men's and women's 200-meter freestyle relay teams took home second place, with the women coming in with a 2:11.17 time and the men at 1:50.95.
Hiram men's and women's swimming and diving will next travel to Bethany, W. Va. for a dual meet against Bethany College on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.
