HIRAM, Ohio – October 9, 2021 – Hiram men's soccer dropped a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) match, 2-1, vs. DePauw on Saturday at Charles A. Henry Field.
Less than five minutes into the match, Flynn Sheehan scored on a corner kick giving the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Sheehan again scored in the 28
th minute, doubling the lead to 2-0 with an assist going to Ben Weidner.
At the halfway point, DePauw led with 11 shots against Hiram's five.
About ten minutes into the second half, Hiram scored on a DePauw own goal cutting the lead to 2-1.
An
Aaron Muldrow shot in the 78
th minute would be the last shot the Terriers would get as they would fall short by a final score of 2-1.
Noah Cieza led the team with two shots with one coming on goal.
Travis Shrout also had a shot on goal and
Isaac Opoku registered one shot for the match.
Both
Shelby Edwards and DePauw goalkeeper Alex Lundin had three saves for the match.
As a team DePauw had 19 shots with Hiram having six. Both teams had six corner kicks.
With the loss the team falls to 2-7-2 on the year and 0-3 in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play. The Terriers next hit the field on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at Wooster with a 4 p.m. match.
