HIRAM, Ohio - October 25, 2021 – Hiram College women's soccer will host their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game, "Kick for the Cure," on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 4:00 p.m. at Charles A. Henry Field at Malmisur Stadium as the Terriers take on the Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops.
"This year's Kick for the Cure is a great way to bring awareness to breast cancer," Head Women's Soccer Coach
Kaela Kovanda said. "This disease hits close to home with my mom being diagnosed three years ago. I want a cure just as much as anyone else and I hope this will help take us in the right direction. Seeing the school come together to help support a great cause makes me proud to be a Terrier."
The Terriers, working with Susan G. Komen of Northeast Ohio, hope to raise both awareness and money to fight breast cancer.
Hiram women's soccer will sell both T-shirts and hats, with all proceeds, including gate admission, going directly to Susan G. Komen, and in turn directly to research and people in need.
Susan G. Komen is the only organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this disease.
The Terriers host Ohio Wesleyan in the "Kick for a Cure" game on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Charles A. Henry Field at Malmisur Stadium, with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m.
