Hiram Men's Soccer Falls at #15 Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio – October 23, 2021 – Hiram men's soccer fell in a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) match at #15 Kenyon, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon.

Isaac Opoku notched his team-leading eighth goal of the season less than seven minutes into the match marking an early 1-0 Hiram lead.

Kenyon quickly answered, scoring one goal four minutes later in the 11th minute, as well as another in the 27th. Sebastian Gaese and Alem Duratovic were responsible for the two goals for the Lords.

At halftime, the Lords had 14 shots with Hiram having one.

Coming out of the break, the home team scored in the 48th minute with Gerardo Martinez finding the back of the net. Two more goals ensued for Kenyon, as they finished with five on the day.

Noah Cieza put another goal on the board for the Terriers in the 75th getting his first goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Shelby Edwards had 14 saves on the afternoon marking a season-high.

The Lords finished the match with 30 shots with 14 on goal. Hiram finished with two shots on goal.

The Terriers move to 3-10-2 on the year with the defeat and 1-5 in conference play. The team plays its final home match of the year on Wednesday, Oct. 27 vs. Denison at 7:30 p.m.
